Learning Style

After taking the test, my results showed that I was a kinesthetic learner.  This means I learn better by actually doing things.  I found out that all of my senses to learn.  I believe these results are very accurate because I have always been able to understand things better when I actually see them in motion and do them myself.  Strategies that would work for me would be field trips, a hands-on visual, and role-playing the situation.  Also, exhibits and lectures that contain real life examples and scenarios would be beneficial to me.

"3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
b.collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation."

Websites like Blackboard and Edline are great examples of this.  Students can basically access their classroom at home and communicate with teachers about their grades and assignments. Also, with hectic schedules, it is a great way for parents to be able to check on their students' progress and keep a communication line with the teachers.

"4. Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility
b.address the diverse needs of all learners by using learner-centered strategies providing equitable access to appropriate digital tools and resources."

Not all students learn the same way, as proved by the learning style test.  As the teacher, I could make sure that every lesson has a touch of every learning style.  For instance, if I were teaching a lesson on the bones of the body, I could start out with a power point explaining the structure, talking as I went, and then the students could get onto a website that allows them to piece together a skeleton while learning the terms.  This would not only be for the visual and kinesthetic learners, but the aural learners would get the audio of the power point as well.

"3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
d.model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning."

A teacher should always be looking for the newest technological pieces to help them teach in a classroom.  So, they should always be looking for the latest video, diagram, or online activity to help add some color to their lesson.  If I were teaching a lesson about famous authors of the 18th century, I could take the students to the computer lab and let them research the authors online through articles and videos, incorporating technology into the lesson.
