5. Ordered Problems. Good games will compel players to adopt certain techniques or methods to solve problems and build on these to help the player solve more difficult problems in later levels or areas.
I think this is such a great thing that kids need to learn because in essence, this is what life is all about. In all your math and science classes, you start with learning basic principles, and eventually, all these small bits are thrown into solving one big realistic problem. I think is is great to teach children problem solving and how to deal with ordered problems because sometimes that can be a difficult task. It takes a lot of brain power and thought to be able to sequence things. So, if kids are learning them in a fun environment that they can relate to, I believe the rest of their academics may be benefited as well.

Below is a link to a site that has hundreds of educational games that promote problems solving. While kids are using their brains and expanding their abilities, they are just having fun and do not realize exactly what they are doing to benefit their academics.
