Double Entry Journal #4- "The Fine Line Between ADHD and Kinesthetic Learners"

Because kinesthetic learners need to engage their body in order to focus and learn, it is not easy for them to sit at a desk and pay attention for an entire class and get a lot from it. "Kinesthetic learners require body movement and action for optimal results: they need to move around, use their muscles, explore," Dr. Linksman says in his article.  So, while technology is a useful tool, it has to be used in the right way to be productive for these types of learners.  One technique Dr. Linksman mentions in his article is flashlight writing.  This would engage a child's body while they were learning letters and words.
Another way to help a kinesthetic learner with technology might be a simple dance that went along with music that could help them remember their ABC's, the Presidents of the United States, or the parts of the body.  Also, a child could play instructional video games on a Wii or some other type of motion sensing game console.
